Importing information from a CD or Email Attachment


This document is a guide on how to import products to PromoServe sent from a supplier that is using PromoLink. The information will either be provided on a CD or sent via FTP (ftp details will have to be provided by the supplier and the distributor receiving the information).

Step 1


Insert the CD into the CD tray of your computer and open the folder. Select all the files and copy them into a folder on your computer. For ease of use you could create a folder on the desktop and copy the information into it. Make sure that the files are not read only. To check this, select all the files, right click, choose “Properties” and ensure the “Read Only” box is unticked. Hit “apply” then “ok” to complete this step.

Step 2


Login to PromoServe, from the main menu click the next button and then system functions:



Within this menu click the Auto Catalogue Updates Button



The screen below will open, click the spy glass in the New Catalogue Details Section and select the folder that you have just created.

In the Where do you wish the images to be stored? section, select the images folder where PromoServe has be installed:



Here you can also set Default Sales and Purchase nominal codes and set a default mark up to the prices provided by your supplier. If you check the Update Existing Selling Prices the price currently stored on the database will be updated. Click the tick button at the bottom right and the data will be imported.
