Golden Rules for Successful Implementation


With the experience of conducting hundreds of successful implementation projects, we would like to draw attention to several key areas which can cause problems if they are not managed properly. We have put together a simple checklist that should be considered before every implementation.

Planning and ownership

  • Make sure you are involved in and understand the project plan
  • This is your software solution and you must undertake ownership and operational management of it
  • Have management buy-in

Hardware

  • Make sure the network / server has been correctly configured and is reliable
  • Make sure Minimum guidelines followed

Expectations

  • Are your expectations for the software capabilities and implementation timescales realistic
  • Ensure project objectives and implementation schedule these been agreed by all involved

Training

  • Ensure training time is not lost to configuration or data migration
  • Agree how all staff will get training – train the trainer approach
  • Create your own process / training sheets from our tutorials

Business Processes

  • Have you outlined your workflow processes?
  • Are there any critical issues we need to be aware of?
  • Are there any critical reports you rely on

Data

  • Do you want to use data from your existing system, & if so, who will prepare it ready for importing to your new system?
  • Do you want us to supply any industry-standard or catalogue group data sets?
